STARGAZING AT THE BEACH

Salt Fork State Park, nestled in the heart of Guernsey County, Ohio, is a sprawling haven for nature enthusiasts. As the largest state park in Ohio, it boasts an impressive 17,229 acres of land and an additional 2,952 acres of shimmering water, making it a true gem in the state's public recreation landscape.

My personal connection with this park runs deep, having spent countless summer days here with family and friends while I was growing up. After college, I moved away but missed the cherished experiences I had enjoyed in my youth. However, fate led me back to this remarkable place.

While scouting locations for Milky Way photography, I rediscovered the park's magic. To my immense delight, I realized that this serene haven was the perfect setting for capturing the night sky. The campground boat dock, in particular, provided an ideal vantage point.

This Milky Way image now holds a special place in my heart, as it serves as a reminder of my childhood and the exquisite surroundings I was fortunate enough to grow up in. Salt Fork State Park, with its breathtaking landscapes and newfound connection to the stars, will forever be a place of significance and wonder for me.
